Wallendorf Coffee Pot & Cover with Puce Decoration, c.1765

A rare coffee pot and cover with puce panels on the front and reverse of a traveller and a guardsman in a rural landscape and a church in the distance painted on a moulded ribbed body with gilt swags forming a garland around the top rim, the cover similarly decorated, scroll shaped handle and short spout. Underglaze blue W mark to base, c.1765.
