Rockingham Style Ice Pail & Cover with Floral Decoration, c.1845

An impressive ice pail and cover, both painted with a continuous frieze of English flowers, the handles applied with grapes and mask terminals, the cover with a large pierced finial, bright orange pedestal base and brightly highlighted with gilding throughout. No mark to base, in the Rockingham style, c.1845.
43 cm (17 inches) high, 23 cm (9 inches) diameter.
