Meissen Vase with 'Limoges' Enamel Painting of Cupid, c.1880

A fine ovoid vase on square base modelled by Ernst August Leuteritz, delicately painted with a white 'Limoges' enamel panel on a cobalt blue and gilded ground depicting Cupid netting a butterfly whilst being pulled along in a scallop shell chariot by two more butterflies, the sides applied with demi-putti handles. Blue crossed swords mark to base, circa 1880.
