Meissen Art Nouveau Group of Sisters by Alfred Koenig, c.1905

Compassionately modelled with the older sister helping up the younger one after a tumble. The decoration is a rare combination of high-temperature underglaze and final firing overglaze techniques, which was pioneered using an increasingly larger palette of colours during this period. Modelled by the master of human figures in the early twentieth century, Alfred Koenig. Blue crossed swords, impressed model number Y 181, impressed assembler's number 34, black painted decorator's number 51 to the base, circa 1905.
19 cm high.
