Meissen Art Nouveau Figure of a Boy with Picture Book by Konrad Hentschel, c.1904

Charmingly modelled as a boy wearing a green smock and sat looking at illustrations from 'Der Struwwelpeter' (Shockheaded Peter) by Heinrich Hoffman, from a series of children by one of the manufactory's key modellers of the period, Konrad Hentschel. Blue crossed swords, incised model number U 149, impressed assembler's number 12, black painted decorator's number 74 to the base, circa 1904.
