French Pair of Ormolu Mounted Vases and Covers, c.1860

Very finely painted and decorated in the Sèvres manner, with panels of putti at play to the front and panels of floral bouquets to the reverse, and floral bands to the covers, each within white and turquoise faux jewel bordered cartouches and reserved on a cobalt blue ground, the acorn finials, mask handles and neo-classical bases all in original mercury-gilded bronze.
