Austrian Octagonal Charger Depicting The Fire of Troy, c.1880

Finely decorated in the Vienna manner, the centre exceptionally well painted with a large panel depicting Aeneas saving his father from the ruins of the Fire of Troy, the borders decorated with scrolling gilt-work reserved on burgundy, rose, yellow and green enamel grounds. Blue shield mark, stuck on printed paper label for Winifred Williams and a handwritten one describing the scene.
