Meissen Group of Leda and the Swan, c.1745

A fine and early group modelled by J.J. Kaendler, depicting the goddess Leda seated beside a swan and garlanding flowers around its neck, a kneeling Cupid in attendance to one side by a leafy branch, the base applied with flowers and leaves. Blue crossed swords to the base, circa 1745.
