History

Decorated in high-temperature underglaze colours and remarkable that the decorator managed to successfully assign different shades of brown to each bear; other examples of this group we have noted appear to use only a single brown shade for both bears.

Underglaze blue crossed swords, incised model number V 111, impressed assembler’s number 144, brown painted decorator’s number 5 to underside, circa 1905.
