Meissen silver-mounted snuff box with a view of Dresden

A detailed topographical scene of Dresden as seen from the banks of the River Elbe is painted on the inside cover. The outside of the cover is painted with a musical scene with three figures. The outsides of the base are decorated with alternate panels of birds on branches – as is the underside – and flowers, within rococo gilt cartouches. The inside base is decorated with birds and insects in flight amongst floral sprigs.
